Urgent! Volunteers needed to deliver food to city centre homeless accommodation.

Calling Oxford City Centre! We are on the lookout for volunteers who can deliver food to the city’s homeless population currently accommodated in hotels.

St Mungos are the homeless charity who run the rough sleepers outreach service in the city. They are coordinating support staff across hotels in Oxford where homeless people are currently being accommodated due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

They have a generous arrangement from Pret a Manger (The Pret Foundation) of food donations running twice daily for the hotel residents. St Mungos are in need of volunteers who can pick up these food donations and drop them off to a city centre location.

The volunteer pick up's are daily at 3:30pm from Pret’s Cornmarket branch and 5pm from the Westgate branch; food is then walked over to the hotel location which is approximately a 12 minute walk from both branches. St Mungos are hoping each volunteer could commit to a slot once per week.  Can you help fill this rota up?

Volunteers are required to start immediately. You will be providing invaluable assistance for a service that is working on the frontline of supporting homeless people in the city centre. Without volunteers to deliver these donations, St Mungos staff will be unable to distribute them to their clients.
