We hope this email finds you well and that you're hanging on in there! With January out of the way and daffodils starting to peek, we reckon it's safe to start thinking about Spring...! (We're a glass half-full kind of place!)

We have a great selection of volunteering opportunities at the moment. Take a scroll down and have a gander, most of them only require around half an hour of time per week but that time would make the world of difference.

We also have a special request from our friends at Oxford City Council who are on the hunt for people to staff their Covid-19 asymptomatic testing centres. This is an urgent shout-out as the centres will be up and running in a week's time; if you are currently on furlough or not in work at the moment, this could be a fantastic chance to get involved in the efforts to reduce Covid-19 in your community.

Who needs volunteers?

Covid-19 Asymptomatic Testing Centres: Oxford City Council is looking for people to work in their Asymptomatic Testing Centres, guiding and supervising front-line workers to do self-testing. To find out more and apply, click here.

Damascus Rose Kitchen: Syrian Sisters Community Group
Do you have experience of setting up or running a food related business? This exciting social enterprise is looking for your help to join as a non executive board member. Find out more and click here.

Age UK - Telephone Befrienders: Age UK is looking for volunteers to match with an older person in the community for companionship and socialising. Do you have around half an hour per week to spare? Apply here!

SWIM - Befriending Volunteers: Working with Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), volunteers are urgently needed to carry out ‘check-in and chat’ telephone calls on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. People who are currently serving their sentences in the community, either as a community sentence order or on a period of license, are not receiving the same level of support that is usually available to them due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
